The Story Behind the Brush: A Journey to Learn to Be Present

The Day Everything Changed

Five or six years ago, I found myself at a crossroads, feeling lost and overwhelmed by life’s weight. In search of a spark, I stumbled upon an art therapy class. I didn’t know then that picking up a brush would change my life forever. I started to draw, and I simply couldn’t stop.

Art as a Sanctuary

What began as a personal refuge slowly became my cure. Line by line, color by color, art started to heal me. But something even more unexpected happened: people around me began to react. They saw something in my drawings—a “je ne sais quoi,” a special feeling they couldn’t quite name, but that they deeply felt.

Sharing the “Silent Something”

Encouraged by friends and family who asked for my pieces for their own homes and sacred moments, I began to gain confidence. I wondered: How can I bring this quiet magic to others? This is how Pocket Poésie was born. My cards and illustrated tales are designed to be messengers of that same peace I found. They are not just illustrations; they are fragments of a journey back to oneself.

A Space for You to Breathe

I created these cards so you can choose how to live with them. You may send them as a bridge to someone you care about, sharing a “pocket of poetry” with the world. Or, you may keep them for yourself—tucked into a book or pinned to a wall—as a gentle reminder to breathe, to dream, and to contemplate. Because in the end, it is in these quiet moments of beauty that we truly just are.
